LYCOMING MEN’S
TENNIS FALLS TO ETOWN BY ONE
ELIZABETHTOWN,
PA – The Lycoming College men’s tennis team traveled to
Elizabethtown College, Thursday afternoon, for their final match
of the season. The Warriors won 3-of-6 singles matches but could
not claim the doubles point, falling 4-3 for the second
consecutive outing. Lycoming finishes the 2002 campaign with a
record of 5-5. The Blue Jays improve to 10-9 on the season.
Bernardo
Urdaneta (So./Maracaibo, Venezuela; Claret School)
was Lycoming’s highest winner, defeating Brian Holton in the
second position, 7-6(7-3), 6-2. Eric Frey (Sr./Williamsport,
PA; Williamsport) tallied his third consecutive win in the
third position winning 6-0, 7-6, over Andy Borzak. Jason
Mathews (So./North Wales, PA; Christopher Dock) was the
Warriors’ third winner. He topped Mike Girgis in the fifth
position, 6-3, 7-6(7-3).
Lycoming’s
five wins this season were the most for any team in the program
since 1985.
