LYCOMING MEN’S
TENNIS DEFEATS FDU-MADISON
MADISON,
NJ – The Lycoming College men’s tennis team picked up their
fourth win of the season, Wednesday afternoon, when they defeated
FDU-Madison 5-2. The Warriors won 2-of-3 doubles matches to pick
up the team point and added four singles victories. Lycoming is
now 4-2 overall and 2-2 against MAC Freedom Conference opponents.
With four matches remaining the Warriors have already recorded
more wins than any season since 1985 when the team went 6-4.
Scott
Moerschbacher (Sr./Montoursville, PA; Montoursville)
teamed up with Bernardo Urdaneta (So./Maracaibo, Venezuela;
Claret School) at first doubles for an 8-4 win. Eric Frey
(Sr./Williamsport, PA; Williamsport) and Joe Connell
(Sr./Chambersburg, PA; Chambersburg) added an 8-5 victory at
second doubles.
In singles
play, Moerschbacher won 7-5, 6-4 in the first position; Urdaneta
won 6-2, 6-3, in the second position; Frey won 6-3, 6-0, in the
third position; and Connell won 6-2, 6-4, in the fourth position.
Lycoming will
travel to Messiah College for their next contest on Friday, April
12.
