Lycoming Rolls On Baptist Bible                                         Coach Kennell Becomes All-Time Record Holder at Lycoming

Scott KennellWILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—On a cold Wednesday at Shangraw Athletic Complex, the Warriors (6-7-3) defeated Baptist Bible (8-9-1) 7-2. The victory made Head Coach Scott Kennell the winningest men’s soccer coach in Lycoming College history.

Kennell’s squad has now won three games in a row and scored 17 goals in that time. Chris Lorenzet (Forest Hill, MD), last week’s MAC Player of the Week, has compiled eight goals during the run. Lorenzet netted two goals and added three assists on Wednesday.

The Defenders played Lycoming tough through most of the first half, giving up a Matt Frey (Greensboro, MD) goal early, but answering with their own score in the 19th minute. However, back-to-back goals, less than two minutes apart, by Lycoming’s Zach Tanner (Waynesboro, PA) and Zach Frederick (West Chester, PA) really got the ball rolling. The Warriors then scored four more Jackson's Header Goalgoals, including strikes by senior Dan Jackson (Windsor, NJ) and freshman Dan Marcin (Wilmington, DE). Jackson enjoyed his first goal of the season in his last career home game.

For Coach Kennell, his 66th win continues a string of honors that includes two-time Umbro Regional All-American and all-time career goals leader at North Carolina Wesleyan. In 2004, he coached Lycoming to the Freedom Conference Championship. This is his seventh season leading the Warriors.

Lycoming plays its final game of the season on Monday at DeSales. The match starts at 1:00.
