Warriors Claim Second Straight Lycoming On The Bubble For Playoffs
Lorenzet, who scored four goals in a match earlier this week, broke a scoreless tie in the 38th minute. He was assisted by fellow freshman Mike Coates (Washington, NJ), who then fed Scott Eriksen (New Providence, NJ) less than three minutes later for the game’s second goal. The Warriors went into the half leading 2-0. Lycoming was relentless throughout, shooting 13 times in each half. King’s managed 10 shots all day, but Warrior goalkeeper Matt Klipp (Collegeville, PA) was stingy, wrapping up seven saves in the win. Dan Marcin (Wilmington, DE) netted an unassisted goal in the 65th minute, while the Monarchs’ Jordan Miller scored King’s sole goal. The Warriors have a short break before they host Baptist Bible on Wednesday, October 25 at Shangraw Athletic Complex at 3:00. It will be Lycoming’s last home game, as well as a home finale for seniors Dan Jackson (Windsor, NJ) and Eric Stickel (Lansing, NY). Additionally, head coach Scott Kennell is one win away from becoming the winningest men’s soccer coach in Lycoming College history. It could happen at home next Wednesday. |
