Men’s Soccer Loses Conference Opener Scranton, Pa. – Lycoming Men’s soccer team traveled to Scranton for their first freedom conference match of the season and was on the wrong side of the column when it ended. Scranton won the game by a score of 3-0 as Lycoming drops to 1-3-2 on the year and 0-1 in the freedom conference, while Scranton improves to 3-2-1, 1-0 in conference. The Warriors got down early when Scranton’s Tim Logan took a pass from Ray Straccia and scored from 18 yards out. The Warriors only trailed 1-0 at halftime thanks in part to goalie Ryan Humphries who made three of his six saves in the first half. The Warriors started the second half with good opportunities by Zach Tanner and Zach Frederick, but both were turned away by Scranton goalie David Keib. The Royals scored their second goal in the 77th minute by Gus Esgro. Seven minutes later they put their final goal in by Ryan Drum. The Warriors next match is at home when they host nationally ranked Elizabethtown on Sept. 23. The match time is at 1:00 pm.
