Warrior’s Tie Second Match of the Year

Williamsport, Pa. - The Warriors only traveled a couple miles down the road to play Penn College looking to get back on the winning track, but was only able to come away with a 2-2 tie.  The tie left the Warriors at 1-2-2 while Penn College went to 1-0-1.

Lycoming started off the game with multiple opportunities back were unable to get their shots on target.  With a little more than 14 minutes remaining in the 1st half Penn College struck first when Abdullah Al-Bahrani sent a through ball to Zachary Yoder who put it past goalie Ryan Humphries (Boonton Township, N.J.).  The Warriors bounced back in the 2nd half by attempting 13 shots including two goals scored by sophomore Paul Boucher (Hauppauge, N.Y.) in a matter of minutes.  The first goal came with 38 minutes left when Tom McVey (Jamison, Pa.) crossed the ball into the box and after it bouncing around Boucher buried it in the back of the net.  Less then four minutes later Boucher took a pass from Zach Tanner (Waynesboro, Pa.) to score his second goal of the game and fourth on the year.  All looked promising until Al-Bahrani beat Matt Klipp (Collegeville, Pa.) on a penalty kick with just under 20 minutes left.

Offensively the Warriors were taking shots, 26 for the game, from all over, but on numerous occasions they could not find the target.  Warriors had three goalies play with Humphries having two saves, Klipp one, and David Bald (Edgewater, Md.) making one.

Warriors next game is away at 7:00 pm against Scranton on Sept. 19, as it is their first conference match.  The next home game is Sept. 23, as the take on nationally ranked Elizabethtown College at 1:00 pm.
