Klipp Wins Freedom Conference Goalkeeper of the Week
Freshman Comes Up Big in Overtime to Force Tie

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. ---  Freshman Matt Klipp (Collegeville, Pa.) received the honor of being named Freedom Conference Goalkeeper of the Week after his outstanding debut against Penn State Altoona.  Klipp finished the contest with 12 saves on 25 total shots faced, 14 of which were on goal. 

Several shots faced by Klipp came from within 15 yards of the goal, forcing saves that displayed his quickness and range within the box.  During the overtime period, he snuffed out two breakaways by the Lions, keeping the score knotted at two and solidifying his claim as Goalkeeper of the Week.  Klipp’s performance also gave him an edge in the battle for the full-time goalkeeping duties, which was one of the most exciting competitions coming out of camp.

During his high school career at Perkiomen Valley, Klipp was named to the All-PAC 10 Conference First Team, and received the Coaches Leadership Award. 

Klipp looks to keep things going as the Warriors (0-0-1) travel to Susquehanna University Friday night September 8, in the “Battle of the Boot.”
