LYCOMING MEN’S SOCCER SHUTS OUT MOUNT ALOYSIUS

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College men’s soccer team traveled to Mount Aloysius College, Monday afternoon, for a non-conference match. The Warriors scored four goals in the first half, while shutting the Mounties out for a 4-0 victory. Lycoming improves to 8-3-1 overall this season. Mount Aloysius falls to 1-8.

Tony Komons (Fr./Frederick, Md.; Frederick) claimed the first goal of the match off an assist from Rob Bailey (Fr./Bel Air, Md.; C. Milton Wright). Ryan Burgett (Jr./Carlisle, Pa.; Carlisle) extended the Warriors’ lead to 2-0 with a goal off a pass from Andrew Weber (Jr./Ambler, Pa.; Upper Dublin). Weber posted a goal of his own, converting a penalty kick to push Lycoming’s margin to 3-0. Jason Mathews (Sr./North Wales, Pa.; Christopher Dock) completed the scoring with a goal off an assist by Phil Kratochvil (Jr./Bel Air, Md.; C. Milton Wright).

Jason Fesler (Sr./Carlisle, Pa.; Cumberland Valley) started in goal and made three saves in the first half. Will Anthony (Sr./Schuylkill Haven, Pa.; Nativity) was in net for the second half and preserved the shutout by making three saves of his own.

The Warriors out-shot the Mounties 33-8 and had four corner kicks to none for the home team.

Lycoming returns home for their next match, hosting Cabrini College on Saturday, October 9. Kickoff is at 11 a.m.
