LYCOMING MEN’S SOCCER SHUTS OUT HILBERT

HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Lycoming College men’s soccer team traveled to Hilbert College, Monday afternoon, for a non-conference contest. The Warriors were dominant at both ends of the field, shutting out the Hawks 6-0. Lycoming improves to 4-1-1 with the victory. Hilbert drops to 0-5.

Zach Tanner (Fr./Waynesboro, Pa.; Waynesboro) and Tony Komons (Fr./Frederick, Md.; Frederick) led the offensive attack with two goals each. Tanner also added an assist. Jeff Kocher (Jr./Churchville, Md.; C. Milton Wright) scored the game-winning goal in the sixth minute off an assist from Ryan Wertz (Jr./Middletown, Pa.; Middletown). Kocher assisted on three of the other goals, as well. Troy Watson (Jr./North East, Md.; Rising Sun) accounted for Lycoming’s other goal.

Jason Fesler (Sr./Carlisle, Pa.; Cumberland Valley) started in goal for the Warriors and made four saves to give Lycoming a 4-0 halftime lead. Ryan Humphreys (Fr./Boonton Township, N.J.; Mountain Lakes) played the final 45 minutes in net, making two saves and preserving the shutout.

The Warriors will play again on Thursday, September 23, when they travel to Wilkes University for their first Freedom Conference match of the season.
