WARRIOR MEN’S SOCCER PLAYS
JUNIATA TO A DRAW
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The
Lycoming College men’s soccer team traveled to Juniata College,
Wednesday afternoon, for a non-conference match. The Warriors
scored first but could not add a second goal eventually playing
the Eagles to a 1-1 tie. Lycoming moves to 3-1-1 while Juniata
is now 1-4-1.
Jeff Kocher (Jr./Churchville,
Md.; C. Milton Wright)
recorded Lycoming’s lone goal at the 18:29 mark of the match,
unassisted.
The Eagles evened the score when
Jeff Gehring scored on a breakaway midway through the second
half. Neither team could post the game-winning goal through the
rest of regulation and 20 minutes of double overtime.
Jason Fesler (Sr./Carlisle, Pa.;
Cumberland Valley) was
in goal for the Warriors, making three saves. Mark Guthridge
made five saves in net for Juniata.
Lycoming opens their conference
schedule on Saturday, September 18, when they travel to DeSales
University.
