LYCOMING MEN’S SOCCER DEFEATS VALLEY FORGE
Kocher Breaks Career Assist Record

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College men’s soccer team hosted Valley Forge Christian College, Tuesday afternoon, for a non-conference match. The Warriors scored three goals in the first 15 minutes of the contest and never looked back, defeating the Patriots 8-1. Lycoming improves to 11-2 on the season. Valley Forge falls to 5-3.

Jeff Kocher (So./Churchville, Md.; C. Milton Wright) led the Warriors with two goals and two assists in the contest. He also set a new school record for the second consecutive game, recording his 23rd career assists to surpass the previous record of 22 held by Matt Pivirotto.

Andrew Rampulla (So./Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Cumberland Valley) tallied the game-winning goal for Lycoming in the 13th minute off an assist by Kocher. Troy Watson (So./North East, Md.; Rising Sun), Stephen Ajayi (Fr./Bensalem, Pa.; Bensalem), Andrew Weber (So./Ambler, Pa.; Upper Dublin), Eric Stickel (Fr./Lansing, N.Y.; Lansing), and Phil Kratochvil (So./Bel Air, Md.; C. Milton Wright) each recorded a goal as well. Ryan Burgett (So./Carlisle, Pa.; Carlisle), Paul Zippel (So./Cherry Hill, N.J.; Cherry Hill), and Ryan Wertz (So./Middletown, Pa.; Middletown) each had one assist in the game.

Jason Fesler (Jr./Carlisle, Pa.; Cumberland Valley) played the first half in goal for the Warriors, making one save without allowing a goal. Mike Byerly (Fr./Lewisburg, Pa.; Lewisburg) was in net for the second half, making four saves and giving up one goal.

Lycoming’s next match in on Tuesday, October 14, when they travel to King’s College for a key Freedom Conference match.
