MEN’S SOCCER REBOUNDS TO DEFEAT NEUMANN
WILLIAMSPORT,
PA – The Lycoming College men’s soccer team rebounded from
a tough loss on Saturday to defeat Neumann College, 2-0,
Sunday afternoon. The Warriors tallied one goal in each period
while holding the Knights to just four shots in the contest.
Lycoming is now 1-1 on the season, while Neumann falls to 0-2.
Andrew
Weber (So./Ambler, Pa.; Upper Dublin)
scored the first goal of the game in the 40th
minute to put the Warriors ahead for good. The goal came
unassisted.
Jeff
Kocher (So./Churchville, Md.; C. Milton Wright)
added an insurance goal midway through the second half off an
assist by Paul Zippel (So./Cherry Hill, N.J.; Cherry Hill).
Jason
Fesler (Jr./Carlisle, Pa.; Cumberland Valley)
was in goal for Lycoming and recorded his first shutout of the
young season. Fesler was forced to make just one save. Casey
Snyder played the majority of the game in goal for the
Knights, making eight saves and allowing two goals.
In
the afternoon’s second contest, Susquehanna University again
scored four second half goals to defeat Gallaudet University,
4-0. Chris Collier scored two goals and added an assist for
the Crusaders.
The
Warriors are in action again on Friday, September 5, when they
host Susquehanna for the third annual “Battle of the
Boot”. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
