MEN’S SOCCER WINS SIXTH STRAIGHT VERSUS JUNIATA
WILLIAMSPORT,
PA. – The Lycoming College men’s soccer team won its sixth
straight game against Juniata by a score of 3-0, thus making the
Warriors undefeated since their opening loss to Gallaudet. The
Warriors improve their record to 6-1 while Juniata drops to
2-5-1.
In
the first half the only goal was scored by sophomore Ryan
Burgett (Carlisle, Pa./ Carlisle) off an assist by Jeff Kocher (Churchville, Md./ C. Milton Wright). The first goal was
scored at 24 minutes into the half and would prove to be all the
scoring Lycoming would need.
In
the second half, however, sophomore Andrew
Rampulla (Mechanicsburg, Pa./ Cumberland valley) added a
pair of insurance goals. The first came in the 46th
minute and was unassisted. The second came 40 minutes later at
the 86th minute and was assisted by Troy
Watson (North East, Md./ Rising Sun).
Lycoming’s

Fesler (Carlisle, Pa./ Cumberland Valley) recorded the
shutout behind the superb defensive play of seniors Kory
Wertz (Middletown, Pa./ Middletown) and Ian
Kauffman (Lewisberry, Pa./ Red Land); and sophomore Ryan
Wertz (Middletown, Pa./Middletown).
The
Warriors will play again at home on Sunday, September 21,
