Men's Soccer

WARRIOR MEN’S SOCCER DOMINATES WEBB INSTITUTE

BROOKLYN, NY – The Lycoming College men’s soccer team won their fourth straight match, Saturday afternoon, defeating Webb Institute, 12-0, in the opening round of the Polytechnic University tournament. The Warriors scored five times in the first half and added seven in the second, while holding the Clippers to just two shots. Lycoming is now 4-1 on the season.

Jeff Kocher (So./Churchville, Md.; C. Milton Wright) led the Warriors with five goals and an assist in the match. Andrew Rampulla (So./Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Cumberland Valley) added four goals in the contest, while Jason Mathews (Jr./North Wales, Pa.; Christopher Dock) tallied two, and Ian Kauffman (Sr./Lewisberry, Pa.; Red Land) recorded one goal.

Paul Zippel (So./Cherry Hill, Pa.; Cherry Hill), Kory Wertz (Sr./Middletown, Pa.; Middletown), and Peter Ruhl (So./Muncy, Pa.; Muncy) each posted two assists in the contest. Joe Balduino (Sr./Washington, N.J.; Warren Hills Regional), Dan Jackson (Fr./Windsor, N.J.; Lawrence), and Andrew Weber (So./Ambler, Pa.; Upper Dublin) each recorded one assist.

Jason Fesler (Jr./Carlisle, Pa.; Cumberland Valley) started in goal for Lycoming, but was not forced to make save. Mike Byerly (Fr./Lewisburg, Pa.; Lewisburg) played the second half in goal, making two saves.

The Warriors will play in the championship game of the tournament at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
