Offense Kept in Check, Drop Second Straight

--- Lycoming
men’s lacrosse dropped its second straight game on Sunday
afternoon, falling to Drew University 12-4 in rain-soaked
conditions in New Jersey. The
Warriors, now 4-7 overall and 4-4 in Middle Atlantic Conference
play, still cling to the final qualifying spot in the upcoming MAC
playoffs. Drew
improves to 6-6, 5-3 overall, a full game ahead of Lycoming in the
standings.
The
Warriors were held to one goal in each of the four quarters while
Drew picked up four apiece in each of the first three frames.
Junior Tom Nairn
(Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) opened the scoring just 49 seconds
in to the contest to give Lycoming an early 1-0 edge, but Drew
responded with seven unanswered goals spanning into the second
quarter to move to a 7-1 advantage with 5:49 to play in the first
half.
Sophomore
Justin Dixon (Baltimore,
Md./North
County) stopped the bleeding with 1:40 on the clock, but the Rangers
added one more with 17 ticks on the clock to go into the half up
8-2.
Drew
came out gunning in the second half, running out for four more
scores to move to a 12-2 lead.
Sophomore Jim Cusick
(Aston,
Pa./Sun Valley) closed third-quarter scoring with under two minutes to play.
He notched a second goal at the 9:47 mark in the final
frame to close the game’s scoring.
Lycoming
looks to shake its skid on Wednesday, April 26, as the Warriors
travel to King’s College. Game
time is set for 4:00 p.m. in
Wilkes-Barre
