Two Seniors earn Honors
WILLIAMSPORT,
Pa. --- Lycoming Men's lacrosse recently named its captains for
the upcoming 2007 season. Senior midfielder Tom Nairn
(Fairport, NY) was named to be the offensive captain. Nairn
is an excellent leader who works hard to help improve the team.
"I feel honored to be elected to be a captain for the second
year in a row, it's great that I get to play with such a great
group of guys year round. I will miss them after my senior
season," said Nairn.
The other captain named was Kyle Shearer (York, Pa) and
is a senior defenseman. "It's a great responsibility and
sometimes it's a struggle, but it is an honor that the team has
chosen me to lead the defensive unit this year."
"Tom and Kyle will both do a great job leading our program this
season. The have both earned the respect of their teammates as
well as the coaching staff because of the commitment and desire
they display everyday. Their leadership qualities, both on and
off the field have already had a positive affect on the entire
program, says head coach Brian Anken of his captains. Both
seniors are coming off solid seasons in the spring of 2006 and
have helped improve the team already this fall under the
direction of the new head coach.
Lycoming opens the 2007 season at home on February 24th
against the Ithaca College Bombers at 1:00 PM on the turf field
