Lacrosse Loses to Dickinson
Warrior Rally After
Halftime Not Enough
WILLIAMSPORT,
Pa.—The Lycoming men’s lacrosse team (0-3) fell 14-8 to
Dickinson (2-1) on Wednesday. Despite scoring the first four
goals of the second half, the Warriors could not overtake the
Red Devils.
Down 10-2
after the second period, Lycoming reached deep and came out with
a vengeance in the second half. Less than 30 seconds in,
sophomore J.P. Earp (Hilltop Lakes, TX) went coast to
coast and ripped an unassisted goal into the net.
Lycoming’s
energy continued to rise with consecutive goals by captain
Tom Nairn (Fairport, NY), junior Dan “Canada” Cannon
(Orangeville, ONT) and junior Justin Dixon (Baltimore,
MD). But Dickinson’s Chris Dodson quelled the momentum with
a goal at the end of the third and another almost four minutes
into the fourth.
The Warriors
gelled in the second half, outscoring their opponents
6-4. Nairn and Cannon each had two goals on the game. Goalie
Kyle Gilfoy (Media, PA) saved 11 shots and scooped up a
team-high four ground balls.
Lycoming
will suit up again next Tuesday when it travels to Elmira for a
3:30 game. The Soaring Eagles represent the last
out-of-conference game for the Warriors, who begin a steady diet
of MAC foes on Saturday, March 17 when they host DeSales at 1:00
