Men's Lacrosse

WARRIOR MEN’S LACROSSE TOPS VIRGINIA WESLEYAN

NORFOLK, Va. – The Lycoming College men’s lacrosse team earned their first victory of the season, Friday evening, versus Virginia Wesleyan College. The Warriors used six goals in the third period to pull away from the Marlins en route to a 10-7 win. Lycoming is now 1-1 on the season, while Virginia Wesleyan falls to 0-3.

The Warriors were led by Chris McQuade (Sr./Lower Gwynedd, Pa.; Wissahickon) who scored four goals and assisted on another. Freshman Jim Cusick (Aston, Pa.; Sun Valley) added three goals and Dave Kirschner (Sr./Newton Square, Pa.; Marple Newton) chipped in two scores. Ryan Crowley (So./Chatham, N.J.; Madison) contributed one goal and one assist. Thomas Nairn (So./Fairport, N.Y.; Fairport) also recorded one assist.

Matt Lyons (So./Radnor, Pa.; Conestoga) was in goal for Lycoming, making 11 saves to record the victory.

The Warriors will play again on Wednesday, March 16, when they challenge Elmira College.
