WARRIOR MEN’S LACROSSE COMES UP SHORT VERSUS WIDENER

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College men’s lacrosse team hosted Widener University, Saturday afternoon, in a key Middle Atlantic Conference showdown. The Warriors led early but then fell behind and were forced to play catch-up in the final quarter. That comeback fell just short as the Pioneers hung on for a 12-10 victory. Lycoming drops to 6-4 overall and 5-2 within the conference. Widener improves to 7-3 and 6-0.

Sang Duong (Jr./Havertown, Pa.; Haverford) led the Warriors with three goals and three assists. Dave Kirschner (Jr./Newtown Square, Pa.; Marple Newtown) added three goals and two assists. Dave Dormond (Sr./Bryn Mawr, Pa.; Haverford) chipped in two goals, while Chris Jordan (So./Doylestown, Pa.; Germantown Academy) and Dan Wilcox (Sr./Corning, N.Y.; Corning East) each scored once.

Sean Powers (Sr./Drexel Hill, Pa.; Monsignor Bonner) made 15 saves in goal for Lycoming.

The Pioneers were led by Brian Manion and Dennis Mann, each with four goals. Alan Krawitz added three goals and two assists. Mike Cozza made 14 saves in goal for Widener.

The Warriors play again on Monday, April 19, when they travel to Susquehanna University.
