MENS LACROSSE DROPS HEARTBREAKER AT ETOWN
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. The Lycoming College mens lacrosse team
traveled to Elizabethtown College, Wednesday afternoon, for an
important Middle Atlantic Conference match-up. The Warriors
overcame a four-goal, first-half deficit to carry a one-goal
lead into the final period, but ultimately fell to the Blue
Jays, 8-9. Lycoming falls to 6-3 overall and 5-1 within the
conference with their first loss in seven games. Elizabethtown
improves to 7-3 and 5-1.
Dan Wilcox
(Sr./Corning, N.Y.; Corning East)
led the Warriors with four goals in the contest. Sang Duong
(Jr./Havertown, Pa.; Haverford) added one goal and three
assists, while Dave Kirschner (Jr./Newtown Square, Pa.;
Marple Newtown) chipped in one goal and two assists. Dave
Dormond (Sr./Bryn Mawr, Pa.; Haverford) and Sean Malone
(Sr./Calgary, Alberta; Sir Winston Churchill) each scored
one goal, as well.
Sean Powers
(Sr./Drexel Hill, Pa.; Monsignor Bonner)
made 12 saves in the cage for Lycoming.
The Warriors
will play again on Saturday, April 17, when they host defending
conference champion Widener University. Face-off is scheduled
for 1 p.m.
