Men's Lacrosse
LYCOMING MEN’S LACROSSE TAMES BULLDOGS

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Lycoming College men’s lacrosse team hosted DeSales University, Saturday afternoon, for a Middle Atlantic Conference contest. The Warriors used a five-goal second quarter to pull away from the Bulldogs for an eventual 16-6 victory. Lycoming improves to 5-3 overall and 4-1 in the conference. DeSales falls to 1-7 and 0-4.

The Warriors scored the first two goals of the game, but allowed the Bulldogs to tie the score just seconds into the second period. Lycoming then scored four unanswered goals to open up a comfortable lead. DeSales scored a pair of goals in the third, but never got closer than five as the Warriors cruised to the victory.

Dan Wilcox (Jr./Corning, NY; Corning East) led Lycoming with eight goals and two assists in the game. Dave Kirschner (So./Newtown Square, PA; Marple Newtown) added four goals and three assists, and Ryan Bergstrom (Sr./Hagerstown, MD; Smithsburg) chipped in a pair of goals and four assists. Mickie Llano (Sr./Victor, NY; Victor Central) recorded two assists in the contest.

Christian Willaum (Jr./New Milford, CT; New Milford) worked the majority of the game in net for the Warriors, making eight saves and allowing six goals. Eric Shepski (So./West Chester, PA; Unionville) played the final minutes of the game with one saves and no goals allowed.

Brian Kuttler led the Bulldogs with four goals and an assist. Joe Kots played the entire game in goal, making 19 saves and giving up 16 goals.

Lycoming will play again on Tuesday, April 8, when they travel to the University of Scranton. Faceoff is set for 4 p.m.
