MEN’S LACROSSE DOMINATES KING’S
WILLIAMSPORT,
PA – The Lycoming
College men’s lacrosse team hosted King’s College, Wednesday
afternoon, for a Middle Atlantic Conference contest. The Warriors
controlled the action from the start and went on to a comfortable
22-6 victory. Lycoming improves to 4-3 overall and 3-1 within the
conference. The Monarchs fall to 2-5 and 0-4.
Dave
Kirschner (So./Newtown Square, PA; Marple Newtown)
led the Warriors with a school-record 14 points in the contest. He
scored six goals while assisting on eight others. Dan Wilcox
(Jr./Corning, NY; Corning East) scored a game-high seven goals
and recorded three assists. Ryan Bergstrom (Sr./Hagerstown, MD;
Smithsburg) added four goals and Rob VanderWiele
(Jr./Hardwick, NJ; Blair Academy) chipped in two. Sean
Malone (Jr./Calgary, Alberta; Sir Winston Churchill), Chris
McQuade (So./Lower Gwynedd, PA; Wissahickon), and Dan
Thomer (Fr./Philadelphia, PA; Archbishop Ryan) also scored a
goal each.
Christian
Willaum (Jr./New Milford, CT; New Milford)
and Eric Shepski (So./West Chester, PA; Unionville) split
time in goal for Lycoming. Willaum made two saves and allowed four
goals in 30 minutes. Shepski made three saves and allowed two
goals in 30 minutes.
Ryan
Thomas led King’s with two goals and an assist. John Matusiewicz
also recorded a pair of goals. Steve Matusiewicz went the distance
in goal for the Monarchs, making 21 saves.
The
Warriors are at home again for their next contest, hosting DeSales
University on Saturday, April 5. The game is set to start at 2
p.m.
