MENS LACROSSE DROPS FINAL HOME GAME OF SEASON
WILLIAMSPORT,
PA The Lycoming
College mens lacrosse team hosted conference rival
Elizabethtown College, Saturday afternoon, at David Person Field.
The Warriors came back from a two-goal deficit to tie the game at
7-7 early in the fourth quarter. The Blue Jays, however, were able
to hold Lycoming scoreless the rest of the way while recording two
goals of their own to steal the 9-7 victory. The Warriors fall to
5-7 overall and 4-4 within the conference with the loss.
Elizabethtown improves to 6-6 and 4-3.
Lycoming
was led by Dave Kirschner (So./Newtown Square, PA; Marple
Newtown) with two goals and an assist. Dave Dormond
(Jr./Bryn Mawr, PA; Haverford) also tallied a pair of goals in
the contest. Ryan Bergstrom (Sr./Hagerstown, MD; Smithburg),
Ian Martin (Fr./Newark, DE; Delcastle Tech), and Chris
McQuade (So./Lower Gwynedd, PA; Wissahickon) each added one
goal.
Christian
Willaum (Jr./New Milford, CT; New Milford)
went the distance in goal for the Warriors, making 10 saves.
Bryan
Miller, Justin Griffey, and Matt Newell each scored two goals to
lead the Blue Jays. Brian Ginter also added one goal and two
assists. Chris Swierczek made 13 saves in goal for Elizabethtown.
Lycoming
will travel to Messiah College on Wednesday, April 23, for their
final conference game of the season. Faceoff is at 4 p.m.
