LYCOMING MEN’S
LACROSSE FALLS TO PIONEERS
WILLIAMSPORT,
PA - The Lycoming College men's lacrosse team hosted Widener
University, Saturday afternoon, in a match-up of teams perfect
within the conference. The Warriors scored the first goal of the
game, but it would be their only lead in an 11-6 loss to the
Pioneers. Lycoming is now 5-4 overall and 3-1 within the
conference. Widener improves to 5-3 and 4-0.
Sang Duong
(So./Havertown, PA; Haverford)
recorded the game's first goal just less than two minutes into
play. The Pioneers, however, answered with the next four goals to
take a lead they would never lose.
The Warriors scored three goals late in the fourth quarter,
but it was not enough.
Buddy Temple
(Sr./Webster, NY; Webster)
led Lycoming's offense with two goals and an assist. Dan Wilcox
(So./Corning, NY; Corning-Painted Post East) also scored two
goals for the Warriors. Duong added one goal and two assists,
while Dave Dormond (So./Bryn Mawr, PA; Haverford) accounted
for Lycoming's other goal.
Sean Powers
(So./Drexel Hill, PA; Monsignor)
made 16 saves in goal for the Warriors.
Lycoming will
host Susquehanna University on Wednesday, April 10, at 4 p.m. for
the next game.
