LYCOMING MEN’S
LAX OPENS SEASON WITH WIN
ASHLAND, VA –
The Lycoming College men’s lacrosse team opened the 2002 season
with an 8-7 win over Randolph-Macon College, Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors overcame a 4-3 halftime deficit to top the Yellow
Jackets when Dan Wilcox (So./Corning, NY; Corning-Painted Post
East) scored with just 1:22 remaining in the game. Lycoming is
1-0 on the season while Randolph-Macon opens at 0-1.
Wilcox led the
Warriors with three goals in the contest. Sophomore Sang Duong
(Havertown, PA; Haverford Twp.) recorded seven assists in the
game. Buddy Temple (Sr./Webster, NY; Webster) added a pair
of goals, and Eric Holzhauer (Sr./Willow Grove, PA; Abington),
Ryan Bergstrom (Jr./Hagerstown, MD; Smithsburg), and Dave
Dormond (So./Bryn Mawr, PA; Haverford) each chipped in one.
Holzhauer also tallied an assist.
Christian
Willaum (So./New Milford, CT; Mew Milford)
made nine saves in goal for Lycoming in his first collegiate
start.
The Warriors
will travel to SUNY-Oneonta on Saturday for their next game.
