WIN THRILLER IN OVERTIME VERSUS BLUE JAYS
ELIZABETHTOWN,
PA – The Lycoming College men’s lacrosse team traveled to
Elizabethtown College, Thursday afternoon, for another important
conference game during the stretch run of the regular season. The
Blue Jays forced the Warriors into overtime, but senior Buddy
Temple (Webster, NY; Webster) provided the game-winning goal
to give Lycoming the 10-9 victory. The Warriors are now 10-4
overall and 7-1 within the conference. Elizabethtown falls to 5-6
and 4-4.
Temple was the
squad’s leading goal scorer with four in the contest. Sang
Duong (So./Havertown, PA; Haverford) added two goals and four
assists. Dan Wilcox (So./Corning, NY; Corning-Painted Post)
also recorded a pair of goals. Dave Dormond (Bryn Mawr, PA;
Haverford) and Eric Holzhauer (Sr./Willow Grove, PA;
Abington) each chipped in a single goal, while Dave
Kirschner (Fr./Newtown Square, PA; Marple Newtown) tallied
three assists.
Sean
Powers (So./Drexel Hill, PA; Monsignor)
went the distance in goal for Lycoming making 11 saves.
The
Warriors will wrap up the regular season on Saturday at Drew
University. Currently in second place in the Middle Atlantic
Conference, Lycoming will likely host a first-round playoff game
on Wednesday, May 1. Details will be released when they are
available.
