WARRIORS OUTSHOOT KEUKA IN HIGH SCORING GAME

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Lycoming College men’s lacrosse team won their third consecutive game, defeating Keuka College in a shootout, Monday afternoon. The Warriors used a seven-goal third quarter to pull away from the Storm, eventually winning 16-14. Lycoming improves to 8-4 overall, while Keuka fell to 3-4.

Dan Wilcox (So./Corning, NY; Corning-Painted Post East) got things started with three goals in the first quarter to give the Warriors a 3-2 advantage. The second quarter, however, belonged to the Storm as they tallied six goals to take an 8-7 lead into the locker room. Wilcox added three more goals in the third period as Lycoming exploded for seven goals and took a 14-10 lead. The Warriors posted two more goals in the fourth quarter and held on for the two-goal victory.

Wilcox led Lycoming with eight goals and an assist in the contest. Dave Kirschner (Fr./Newtown Square, PA; Marple Newtown) added three goals and two assists. Chris McQuade (Fr./Lower Gwynedd, PA; Wissahickon) tallied two goals. Buddy Temple (Sr./Webster, NY; Webster) and Dave Dormond (So./Bryn Mawr, PA; Haverford) each chipped in a goal and a pair of assists.

Jon Bennett (Sr./Painted Post, NY; Corning-Painted Post West) got the start in goal for Lycoming making five saves in 31 minutes of work. Sean Powers (So./Drexel Hill, PA; Monsignor) made nine saves in 29 minutes of relief.

The Warriors are right back in action tomorrow afternoon when they host Messiah College at 4 p.m.
