MEN’S LACROSSE OUTGUNNED BY ONEONTA
ONEONTA, NY –
The Lycoming College men’s lacrosse team dropped their first
game of the season Saturday afternoon to Oneonta State. The
Warriors fell behind 3-0 in the opening minutes of the game and
could not match the Red Dragons’ offensive firepower the rest of
the way, eventually falling by a score 27-13. The loss drops
Lycoming’s record to 1-1 while Oneonta opens the season at 2-0.
Buddy Temple
(Webster, NY; Webster) and Dan
Wilcox (So./Corning, NY; Corning-Painted Post East) led the
Warriors’ attack with four points apiece. Temple tallied two
goals and two assists while Wilcox scored three goals and assisted
on another. Ryan Bergstrom (Jr./Hagerstown, MD; Smithsburg),
and Eric Holzhauer (Sr./Willow Grove, PA; Abington) each
added two goals as well.
Christian
Willaum (So./New Milford, CT; New Milford),
Sean Powers (So./Drexel Hill, PA; Monsignor), and Erik
Shepski (Fr./West Chester, PA; Unionville) each saw time in
goal for Lycoming. Willaum made 12 saves, Powers stopped eight
shots, and Shepski recorded two saves.
The Warriors
open up their home schedule and conference competition on
Saturday, March 16, when they host FDU-Madison. Game time is
scheduled for 2 p.m.
