WESNER AND LEVAN HONORED BY CONFERENCE

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lycoming College student-athletes Thomas Wesner (So./Dillsburg; Northern Senior) and Lyndy LeVan (So./South Williamsport; South Williamsport) were honored by the MAC Freedom Conference for their performances on the basketball court last week.

Wesner was named the Freedom Conference Player of the Week for his role in the Warriors 1-1 finish at the Sprint Blue Jay Classic last weekend at Elizabethtown. In two games, he scored 60 points and shot better than 62% from the field, including 15-of-23 from three-point range. In Saturday’s victory over Waynesburg College, Wesner scored 25 points on the strength of six triples. On Sunday, versus Elizabethtown, he knocked down nine three-pointers en route to a 35-point performance. Wesner also recorded seven assists and six rebounds during the tournament and was named to the all-tournament team.

LeVan was named to the Freedom Conference honor roll for her play in three games for the Lady Warriors last week. LeVan is averaging 22 points per game since returning from the holiday break. She has scored 21, 19 and 26 points in consecutive games against Juniata, Messiah and Elizabethtown. She has also tallied 24 rebounds, six blocked shots and six assists over the three-game span. During that stretch LeVan has shot 45.5% (25-of-55) from the field and 72.7% (16-of-22) from the free throw line.

Both players return to action on Wednesday evening when Lycoming travels to Wilkes University for a conference doubleheader. The women are scheduled to tip-off at 6 p.m. with the men to follow at approximately 8 p.m.
