NAPIER NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lycoming College junior Chris Napier (Port Jervis, NY; Minisink Valley) has been named the Player of the Week for men’s basketball in the MAC Freedom Conference.

Napier led the Warriors to a perfect 2-0 week, in which they defeated conference rivals Drew University and FDU-Madison. Napier averaged 21.5 points per game, and shot 51.5% from the field and 40% from behind the three-point arc during the two-game stretch. He also averaged 5.5 rebounds per game and recorded three assists.

For the season, Napier ranks among the leaders in several statistical categories. He is ninth in the conference in scoring, averaging 15.4 points per game. His 12 blocked shots also rank ninth in the Freedom, and his 25 three-pointers are 10^th best.

As a team, the Warriors are 7-8 overall and 3-4 versus conference opponents. Lycoming begins the second half of the conference schedule on Wednesday when they travel to King’s College. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m., following the women’s game scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
