LYCOMING MEN ROUT DEVILS BY 20

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Lycoming College men’s basketball team defeated FDU-Madison, Saturday afternoon, by the score of 96-76. The Warriors used 57% shooting in the second half and 13 three-pointers in the game to gain the victory.

Both teams shot well in the first half and battled to take control as evidenced by the six tie scores throughout the first 20 minutes of action. The Warriors pulled slightly ahead just before the half and carried a six-point advantage to the locker room. The Devils eliminated the deficit quickly at the start of the second period. But Lycoming took control for good around the 10-minute mark, going on a 12-2 run to open up a 12-point lead. The lead was extended by strong free throw shooting by the Warriors to bring the final margin to 20 points.

Chris Napier (Jr./Port Jervis, NY; Minisink Valley) led all scorers with 26 points in the contest, including five treys. Thomas Wesner (So./Dillsburg; Northern Senior) led all players in rebounds with 10, while scoring 15 points for Lycoming. David Ganisin (Sr./Endicott, NY; Union Endicott) contributed 23 points, five assists and four blocked shots. Brian Lindsay (Sr./Gettysburg; Gettysburg) added 15 points, including four three-point field goals.

The win improves the Warriors’ record to 7-8 overall and 3-4 within the MAC Freedom Conference. The Devils fall to 8-7 and 2-5 with the loss. Lycoming will return to action next Wednesday, when they travel to King’s College for a conference doubleheader.
