MEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM FALLS TO AGGIES
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.
– The Lycoming College men’s basketball team hosted Delaware
Valley College Sunday afternoon as part of a MAC Freedom
Conference doubleheader. The Aggies came back from a 17-point
deficit early in the first half to defeat the Warriors 74-71.
Lycoming jumped
all over Delaware Valley in the opening minutes, building a 14-0
advantage at the 15 minute mark of the first half. The Aggies
proved resilient, however, chipping away at the lead to tie the
score at 30 heading into the locker rooms.
In the second
half, Delaware Valley used a 20-8 run midway through the period to
build an 11-point lead and force the Warriors to play catch-up.
Lycoming closed the margin to within three and had an opportunity
to tie the game with the ball and 12 seconds on the clock, but
senior Brian Lindsay’s (Gettysburg; Gettysburg) shot at
the buzzer missed the target.
Chris Napier
(Jr./Port Jervis, NY; Minisink)
was the Warriors’ leading scorer with 20 points. He also led the
team with nine rebounds. Jason Black (Jr./Duncannon; Susquenita)
added 11 points and six assists.
The
Warriors, 5-8 overall and 1-4 in the conference, will travel to
Drew University on Wednesday. The team will host FDU-Madison on
Saturday, Jan. 20 at 3 p.m.
