WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. --- Lycoming men’s basketball let a 10-point halftime lead slip away in falling to DeSales University 77-69 in a Freedom Conference showdown on Freshman Greg Sye lays in two of his 18 points against DeSales University.Wednesday evening.  The Warriors fall to 9-9 overall, 3-4 in league play while the Bulldogs improve to 11-5, 3-4 and move into a tie for fourth place in the conference with Lycoming.

Senior forward Jonathan Pribble (Woolrich, Pa./Central Mountain) poured in 20 of his game high 29 points in the first half of play as the Warriors built a 37-27 lead going into the intermission.  Pribble canned 6-of-8 field goals including 5-of-6 from beyond the arc to lead a Warrior attack that nailed 7-of-10 three-point field goals and shot an even 50.0 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes of play.

Lycoming went cold from deep in the second half, missing on all six of its three-point attempts as DeSales rebounded from a 3-for-14 long-distance showing in the first half to hit on 5-of-9 in the second half.  The Bulldogs scorched the nets at a 60.0 percent clip (18-for-30) overall from the field in the latter frame to outscore the Warriors 50-32.

Pribble’s strong effort, combined with six rebounds, led a trio of Warriors in double figures.  Freshman Greg Sye (Chantilly, Va./Chantilly) had a monster game down low with 18 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Senior point guard Brad Musser (Mifflinburg, Pa./Mifflinburg) chipped in 11 points to go along with four assists and three steals.

Senior Jonthan Pribble finishes a first half dunk against DeSales University.Guard Sedale Walton led four Bulldogs with double figures with 13 points.  Phil Stricker added a dozen and Jeff Raimo and Drew Christman added 11 points apiece.  Raimo also pulled down a game-best eight rebounds.

The second half seemed a continuation of the first for the Warriors as they pushed out a 12-point advantage at 45-33 following a Pribble jumper with 15:20 on the clock.  The Bulldogs responded with a 13-0 run to take a one-point lead at 46-45 covering just a 2:50 period.

The lead traded hands five times over the next eight-plus minutes before DeSales went ahead for good at 57-56 following a layup by Marvin Satchell with 6:25 to play.

DeSales’ edge hovered between five and eight points over the next several minutes before the Warriors’ put together a few runs that pared the lead down to four on two occasions, but Lycoming couldn’t get any closer before the final buzzer.

The Warriors are next in action on Saturday, January 28, as Lycoming travels to FDU-Florham for a Freedom Conference contest.  Game time is set for 3:00 p.m. in Madison, N.J.
