Five Warriors Reach
Double-Digits
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Avenging a January 13 loss to FDU-Florham,
Lycoming (10-9, 3-5) topped the Devils (13-6, 5-3) 82-75 on
Saturday at Lamade Gymnasium. Five Warriors reached double-digit
points in this high-scoring Freedom Conference battle.
Junior
co-captain David Wilson (Pottsville, PA) scored nine
first half points to help the Warriors to a 37-29 halftime lead.
Wilson put up 13 points for the game. Meanwhile, Greg Sye (Chantilly,
VA) led all Lycoming scorers with 17 points. Sye’s six
rebounds also tied him with co-captain Matt McGair (Mt.
Laurel, NJ) and Jemayne Nowlin (Gaithersburg, MD) for
tops on the team. Nowlin recorded 14 points for the game.
Junior
Kevin Morris (Camp Hill, PA) hit several clutch foul shots
down the stretch as Lycoming maintained its lead for the entire
second half. Morris’ 15 total points included three
three-pointers and four of six from the charity stripe. Finally,
Anthony Watson’s (Philadelphia, PA) season-high 12 points
paled only to his season-high seven steals for the game.
FDU-Florham
was previously tied for second in the Freedom Conference, while
Lycoming was tied for third. The Warriors needed this victory to
stay in the race for the playoffs.
Lycoming
hosts another conference foe, Wilkes, on Wednesday night at Lamade
Gymnasium. The women’s game starts at 6:00 p.m., while the men
tip-off at 8:00.
