One to DeSales
Morris Hits Four
Threes
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Lycoming’s men’s basketball team (9-9) fell by
a single point, 64-63, to DeSales (13-4) on Wednesday night. The
loss puts the Warriors at 2-5 in Freedom Conference play, while
the Bulldogs are 5-2.
Sophomore
Jemayne Nowlin (Gaithersburg, MD) hit two three-pointers and
five of six foul shots to reach 13 points on the night. Junior
Kevin Morris (Camp Hill, PA), who has been on a tear
lately, continued his long range mastery, hitting four
three-pointers on his way to 14 points. Warrior captain David
Wilson (Pottsville, PA) grabbed a team-high seven rebounds
on his way to ten points.
Lycoming led
by as many as 11 early in the second half but couldn’t maintain
the advantage. The Bulldogs’ Sedale Walton, who hit four
threes on the night, had 16 of his 19 points in the second half
to spark a 20-5 run that dissolved the Warriors’ lead. DeSales’
Jamie McCloskey knocked down two clutch free throws with
11 seconds left to spur the victory. A last second three by
Morris hit the rim as time expired.
The Warriors
return home for their next two conference match-ups. On
Saturday, both the men and the women play FDU-Florham at Lamade
Gymnasium. The games start at 1:00 p.m. Then, on Wednesday,
Lycoming hosts Wilkes at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. respectively.
