LYCOMING MEN’S BASKETBALL DEFEATS SHENANDOAH

WINCHESTER, Va. – The Lycoming College men’s basketball traveled to Shenandoah University, Tuesday evening, for a non-conference contest. The Warriors received career performances from Jonathan Pribble (So./Woolrich, Pa.; Central Mountain) and Shaun Morris (Jr./Camp Hill, Pa.; Trinity) en route to a 91-84 victory over the Hornets. Lycoming improves to 7-2 on the season. Shenandoah drops to 4-4.

The Hornets jumped out to an early lead scoring the first eight points of the game. Once the Warriors settled in they were able to pull within a point of the home team only to have Shenandoah again extend their lead. Trailing by seven with four minutes to play in the half, Lycoming finally got back to even with a seven-point run that knotted the score at 35-35. Over the final two minutes the two teams traded baskets and headed to the locker rooms tied at 42.

The Warriors took their first lead of the game five minutes into the second-half when a layup by L.J. Huggler (Sr./St. Mary’s, Pa.; St. Mary’s) put them ahead 52-50. Five minutes later Pribble connected in one of his seven three-pointers on the evening to give Lycoming a 57-54 advantage – a lead they would never lose. The Hornets hung around for a while trailing by just one with 4:53 to play, but another seven-point run by the Warriors sealed the contest as Lycoming made 7-of-8 free throws down the stretch.

Pribble was the game’s leading scorer with a career-high 35 points. He also led the Warriors with seven rebounds. Morris also tallied a career high with 24 markers on the strength of five triples. He also handed out six assists. Brad Musser (So./Mifflinburg, Pa.; Mifflinburg) led the squad with seven assists. Huggler and Matt Stackhouse (Sr./Hughesville, Pa.; Hughesville) each added nine points.

Lycoming is on the road again for their next game, traveling to Marymount University on Thursday evening.
