MEN’S BASKETBALL UPSET BY RANGERS
MADISON, N.J. – The Lycoming College men’s
basketball team traveled to conference rival Drew University,
Saturday afternoon. The Warriors led by six at halftime, but
relinquished the advantage in the second half, eventually
falling to the Rangers 63-62. Lycoming drops to 13-5 overall and
5-2 in the Freedom Conference with the loss. Drew improves to
5-11 and 2-5.
The Warriors trailed just once in the first half
and used a 7-0 run just before the half to take a 31-25 lead to
the locker room.
Midway through the second period, the Rangers
used a 15-2 run over a three-minute span to open up a 50-42 lead
with 10:47 to play. Lycoming would cut into the lead on multiple
occasions, but with 3:42 to play the home team maintained an
eight-point lead. The Warriors attempted one more comeback,
holding Drew scoreless the remainder of the game. Lycoming’s
offense, however, came up just short connecting on just one
field goal in five attempts in the final three minutes.
Jonathan Pribble (So./Woolrich, Pa.; Central
Mountain)
and L.J. Huggler (Sr./St. Mary’s, Pa.; St. Mary’s) paced
the Warriors with 18 points apiece. Pribble also led the team
with eight rebounds. Jeremiah Edison (Jr./Mifflinburg, Pa.;
Mifflinburg) came off the bench to add 12 points and four
boards. Shaun Morris (Jr./Camp Hill, Pa.; Trinity) led
the squad with six assists.
Brad Greenman led the Rangers with a game-high 27
points. Craig Clemente added 11 markers off the bench.
Lycoming will
return home for their next contest, hosting the University of
Scranton on Wednesday, February 4. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.
