LYCOMING MEN’S BASKETBALL HONORED FOR SPORTSMANSHIP

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Lycoming College men’s basketball team recently received the Schoenfeld Sportsmanship Award from the Lehigh-Scranton chapter of the College Basketball Officials Association for the 2003-2004 season.

“We’re extremely proud to receive this award,” said Warrior head coach Don Friday. “It’s nice to be recognized not only for the success we achieved last season, but also for the way in which our student-athletes carried themselves on and off the court. We want our players to know that the lessons learned through intercollegiate athletics can serve as a springboard to everything they do in life.”

Lycoming compiled an overall record of 21-8 last season, winning their second Freedom Conference championship and advancing to the second round of the NCAA playoffs. The Warriors will begin defense of the conference title on Friday, November 19, when they host Alfred University, John Jay College, and SUNY-Geneseo in the Lycoming College Tip-Off Tournament.
