WARRIOR MEN’S BASKETBALL PICKED THIRD IN PRESEASON COACHES’ POLL

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Freedom Conference men’s basketball preseason coaches’ poll was released Monday afternoon. Lycoming College was picked to finish third in the conference.

The Warriors received a total of 38 points, including one first-place vote. DeSales University was picked as the preseason favorite with a total of 40 points and two first-place votes. Wilkes University received the most first-place votes with three but compiled a total of 39 points to finish second in the poll. FDU-Florham also received two first-place votes and was picked to finish fourth with a total of 33 points. King’s College (30 points), the University of Scranton (24 points), Drew University (11 points), and Delaware Valley College (9 points) round out the poll.

Lycoming is the defending Freedom Conference champion after going 21-8 last season and advancing to the second round of the NCAA tournament. The Warriors return three starters and nine letter-winners from that squad, including junior Jonathan Pribble (Woolrich, Pa.; Central Mountain) – a first-team all-conference selection in 2004 and rookie of the year in the 2003.

The Warriors begin the defense of their title on Friday, November 19, against Alfred University in the opening game of the Lycoming Tip-Off Tournament.
