WARRIOR MEN’S BASKETBALL PICKED
THIRD IN PRESEASON COACHES’ POLL
WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Freedom Conference men’s basketball
preseason coaches’ poll was released Monday afternoon. Lycoming
College was picked to finish third in the conference.
The Warriors
received a total of 38 points, including one first-place vote.
DeSales University was picked as the preseason favorite with a
total of 40 points and two first-place votes. Wilkes University
received the most first-place votes with three but compiled a
total of 39 points to finish second in the poll. FDU-Florham
also received two first-place votes and was picked to finish
fourth with a total of 33 points. King’s College (30 points),
the University of Scranton (24 points), Drew University (11
points), and Delaware Valley College (9 points) round out the
poll.
Lycoming is
the defending Freedom Conference champion after going 21-8 last
season and advancing to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
The Warriors return three starters and nine letter-winners from
that squad, including junior Jonathan Pribble (Woolrich, Pa.;
Central Mountain) – a first-team all-conference selection in
2004 and rookie of the year in the 2003.
The Warriors
begin the defense of their title on Friday, November 19, against
Alfred University in the opening game of the Lycoming Tip-Off
Tournament.
