WARRIOR
MEN’S BASKETBALL TOPS ELMIRA
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College men’s basketball team
took a break from conference competition, Monday evening, to
host Elmira College. The Warriors led start to finish and led by
as many as 29 in the second half before cruising to a 77-60
victory. Lycoming improves to 10-4 with the win. Elmira falls to
3-10.
The Warriors
scored the first four points of the contest and never looked
back. Five minutes in they led 11-1, ten minutes in their lead
was 24-10, and at halftime the home team was up 42-23. In the
second half, Lycoming continued to pull away building a 29-point
lead with 11:52 to play and again with 6:28 to play. The Eagles
fought back down the stretch as the Warriors cleared their bench
but it was not enough as Lycoming held on for the 17-point
victory.
Jeremiah
Edison (Jr./Mifflinburg, Pa.; Mifflinburg)
led the Warriors by recording a double-double with 16 points and
10 rebounds in the game. L.J. Huggler (Sr./St. Mary’s, Pa.;
St. Mary’s) added 13 points, and Scott Corrigan (Fr./Lake
Ariel, Pa.; Western Wayne) chipped in 11 markers, including
a trio of three-pointers. Shaun Morris (Jr./Camp Hill, Pa.;
Trinity) led the squad with six assists. Curtis Mays
(So./Philadelphia, Pa.; University City) handed out five
assists and scored seven points.
Elmira was
led by Travis Wilder with 16 points and Matt Keating with 10
points.
Lycoming
will return to conference competition on Wednesday, January 19,
when they host Wilkes University. Tip-off is scheduled for 8
p.m. |
