WARRIOR MEN’S BASKETBALL HIRES SECOND ASSISTANT COACH

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – Don Friday, head coach of the Lycoming College men’s basketball program, has announced the hiring of Brian Haas as an assistant coach for the 2004-2005 season.

Haas is a 1985 graduate of Bishop Neumann High School where he was a player on the 1985 Class A District IV championship team and a member of the 1,000-point club. He went on to attend the University of Scranton, playing one season for the Royals’ basketball team. He earned a degree in physical therapy from Scranton in 1989 and returned to the Williamsport area where he has practiced physical therapy ever since. Haas is currently the Director of Rehab Services at Jersey Shore Hospital.

Haas has eight years of coaching experience serving as the assistant varsity boys basketball coach at Bishop Neumann from 1996 through 2004.

“Brian has achieved success at the high school level both as a standout player and as a coach. Being a native of Williamsport he understands the rich tradition of athletics at Lycoming,” said Friday. “We’re very excited to add his energy and knowledge to our staff.

“Coach Haas’ on-floor duties will include overseeing our team offense and working with our backcourt players.”
