WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College men’s basketball team
hosted Elmira College, Saturday afternoon, for a non-conference
match-up. The Warriors used a dominant second half to pull away
from the Soaring Eagles for an 88-51 victory. Lycoming improves
to 8-0 on the season, equaling the best start in the program’s
history. Elmira falls to 0-9.
The Soaring
Eagles kept the game close early by shooting 59% from the field.
Elmira took a 28-22 lead with 2:39 to play in the first half,
before the Warriors responded with a 13-1 run to take a 35-29
lead at the intermission.
Lycoming’s
momentum carried over to the second half as the defense stepped
up and held the Soaring Eagles to just six points over the first
11 minutes of the period. The defensive intensity led to success
on the offensive end, as well, with the Warriors building a
68-35 advantage with nine minutes to play.

led all players with 25 points for Lycoming. Kevin Morris
