MEN’S HOOPS DEFEATS DELAWARE VALLEY
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College men’s basketball team
hosted Delaware Valley College, Saturday afternoon, for a
Freedom Conference match-up. The Warriors shot the lights out in
the first half and dominated the glass en route to a comfortable
95-67 victory over the Aggies. Lycoming improves to 9-4 overall
and 2-1 in the conference. Delaware Valley falls to 3-10 and
2-2.
The Warriors
got off to a fast start in the first half behind the
inside-outside duo of L.J. Huggler (Sr./St. Mary’s, Pa.; St.
Mary’s) and Jonathan Pribble (So./Woolrich, Pa.; Central
Mountain). The pair combined to make 15-of-18 shots from the
field as Lycoming shot 67% in the first half, leading to a 50-33
halftime advantage.
The second
half was more Warriors, as the home team extended their lead to
as many as 34 with strong defense and relentless rebounding. For
the game, Lycoming out-rebounded the Aggies 51-32. All 14
players saw action for the Warriors and nine scored as least one
point in the 28-point victory.
Lycoming’s
Huggler led all players with 31 points and 12 boards in the
game. Pribble added 28 points, including seven three-pointers,
and seven rebounds. Jeremiah Edison (Jr./Mifflinburg, Pa.;
Mifflinburg) came off the bench to add 13 points. Shaun
Morris (Jr./Camp Hill, Pa.; Trinity) and Brad Musser
(So./Mifflinburg, Pa.; Mifflinburg) did a terrific job of
running the offense recording 10 and seven assists,
respectively.
Mike
Thornton was Delaware Valley’s leading scorer with 14 points to
go along with 11 rebounds. Isaiah Pinckney added 13 markers and
Javon Alston came off the bench to chip in 10 points.
The Warriors
are in action again on Monday, January 19, when they host Elmira
College for a non-conference contest. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. |
