WARRIOR MEN’S BASKETBALL TOPS FDU-FLORHAM

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming
College men’s basketball team hosted FDU-Florham, Monday
evening, for a Freedom Conference match-up. The Warriors
outlasted the Devils, in what turned into a shootout in the
second half, and won the game 91-82. Lycoming improves to 14-5
overall and 5-3 within the conference with the win. FDU falls to
8-10 and 3-5.
The Warriors controlled the
action early, building a 15-point lead 15 minutes into the game.
The Devils, however, scored 14 unanswered points to close within
one before heading into halftime trailing 34-31.
FDU maintained the momentum early
in the second period and held a slim 48-47 lead with 14 minutes
to play in the game. This time it was Lycoming who would make a
run, scoring nine unanswered points to regain the advantage. The
Devils made one last comeback attempt, closing within four with
two minutes remaining, but the Warriors maintained their
composure and pulled away for the win.
Jonathan Pribble (Jr./Woolrich,
Pa.; Central Mountain)
led Lycoming with 32 points and 10 rebounds in the contest.
Kevin Morris (Fr./Camp Hill, Pa.; Trinity) added 18 points
on the strength of five three-pointers. Jeremiah Edison
(Sr./Mifflinburg, Pa.; Mifflinburg) came off the bench to
contribute 13 points, four rebounds, and three blocked shots.
Brad Musser (Jr./Mifflinburg, Pa.; Mifflinburg) recorded a
career-high 12 assists, while scoring nine points.
For FDU, Chris Hendershot scored
a game-high 44 points, while grabbing eight rebounds. Pierre
Schmitt and Matt Cushing each added 10 markers.
The Warriors will travel to the
University of Scranton for their next contest on Wednesday,
February 2. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. |
