LYCOMING MEN’S BASKETBALL AND OLLIE’S BARGAIN OUTLETS TO HOST ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT NIGHT

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College men’s basketball team will host an “Academic Achievement Night” on Saturday, January 8, in conjunction with their game versus Pennsylvania College of Technology. The event is being sponsored by Ollie’s Bargain Outlets. Tip-off for the game is 7 p.m. in Lamade Gymnasium.

The event will recognize the academic achievements of students in kindergarten through 12th grade from schools throughout the region. Any student who brings a report card showing perfect attendance or honor roll status will receive a t-shirt and free admission to the game. All persons accompanying the student will also be admitted free of charge.

At halftime of the game, all students in attendance will be entered into a raffle for a $100 gift certificate to the Lycoming College campus bookstore.

“We are thrilled to partner with Lycoming men’s basketball during this promotion,” said Mark Butler, President and CEO of Ollie’s Bargain Outlets, Inc. “Coach Friday’s program embodies all that is right in intercollegiate athletics. Hopefully, by exposing the program to the areas’ youth, the foundation of building fine young athletes and citizens will continue. Today’s young fans will possibly be tomorrow’s Lycoming Warriors!”

“We’re deeply honored to have Mark Butler and the fine people at Ollie’s Bargain Outlets spearhead this worthwhile event,” said Warrior head coach Don Friday. “We feel it is important to recognize the hard work and diligence of young people in classrooms around the region.”
