LYCOMING MEN’S BASKETBALL SUFFERS
LOSS AT DESALES
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Lycoming
College men’s basketball team traveled to DeSales University,
Wednesday evening, for a Freedom Conference contest. The
Warriors started strong but went cold in the second half,
ultimately falling to the Bulldogs, 45-60. Lycoming drops to
12-5 overall and 3-3 within the conference. DeSales improves to
13-4 and 5-1.
The Warriors opened the game on
fire, building a 26-11 lead midway through the first period. The
Bulldogs chipped away at the deficit but Lycoming still led by
seven at halftime – 32-25.
In the second half, the Warriors
went ice-cold, shooting just 21% from the field and scoring just
13 points. Conversely, DeSales shot 58% from the field in the
second half and completed the comeback with 35 second-half
points.
Jonathan Pribble (Jr./Woolrich,
Pa.; Central Mountain)
was Lycoming’s leading scorer with 12 points to go along with
seven rebounds. Patrick Baylor (Jr./Broomall, Pa.; Cardinal
O’Hara) added 10 points and five rebounds. Brad Musser
(Jr./Mifflinburg, Pa.; Mifflinburg) led the squad with eight
assists, while Dave Pearson (Fr./Strasburg, Pa.; Lampeter-Strasburg)
blocked four shots in the game.
The Bulldogs were led by Kyle
Koch, who scored 23 points. Kevin Welsh added 11 markers and
Michael Venafra chipped in 10 points.
The Warriors will look to rebound
on Saturday, January 29, when they host Drew University. Tip-off
is scheduled for 8 p.m. in Lamade Gymnasium.
