WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming
College men’s basketball team hosted King’s College, Wednesday
evening, for a Freedom Conference tilt. The Warriors struggled
with their perimeter game and could not match the Monarchs’
offense, falling 58-70. Lycoming drops to 11-3 overall and 2-1
in the conference. King’s improves to 12-2 and 3-0.
In the first half, the Warriors
shot just 33% from the field, including just 1-of-12 from
three-point range. The result was a 24-35 deficit at halftime.
Lycoming opened the second half with five consecutive points to
close within six, but the outside shooting did not improve,
allowing the Monarchs to hang on for the victory.
Curtis Mays (Jr./Philadelphia,
Pa.; University City)
was the Warriors’ top scorer with 16 points off the bench. He
also grabbed seven rebounds and tallied four steals. Jonathan
Pribble (Jr./Woolrich, Pa.; Central Mountain) added 15
points and a team-high eight rebounds. Brad Musser
(Jr./Mifflinburg, Pa.; Mifflinburg) added 12 points and five
assists.
King’s was led by Brian Horgan
with 21 points and six rebounds. Landon Gabriel and Marty O’Hora
each added 13 markers, while Vince Scalzo chipped in 12 points.
Lycoming will look to rebound on
Saturday, January 15, when they travel to Delaware Valley
College for another conference contest. Tip-off is scheduled for
3 p.m.
