THREE WARRIORS RECEIVE CONFERENCE HONORS FOR MEN’S BASKETBALL

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Middle Atlantic Corporation released the men’s basketball post-season awards today. Lycoming College claimed three award winners with Tommy Wesner (Sr./Dillsburg, PA; Northern) and Matt Stackhouse (Jr./Hughesville, PA; Hughesville) both earning first-team all-conference honors, and Jonathan Pribble (Fr./Woolrich, PA: Central Mountain) being dubbed the Rookie-of-the-Year.

Wesner is named to the first-team for the second consecutive season after leading the Warriors in scoring, averaging 20 points-per-game. He also led the squad in three-pointers with 95 and was second in assists with 91. Wesner was the leading scorer in the conference for the second consecutive season and also ranked fifth in free-throw percentage, and seventh in both steals and assists.

Stackhouse makes his first appearance on the first-team after being a second-team selection a year ago. Stackhouse averaged a double-double for the 2002-2003 season with 17.2 points-per-game and 10.4 rebounds-per-game. He led the conference in rebounding, while ranking fourth in scoring. Stackhouse was also third in the Freedom in both blocked shots and field-goal percentage, and eighth in free-throw percentage.

Pribble garnered rookie-of-the-year honors following a stellar freshman season. Pribble was the Warriors’ third-leading scorer, behind only Wesner and Stackhouse, averaging 14.4 points per game. He also pulled down 5.5 rebounds per game and dished out 2.7 assists per game. Pribble was ninth in the conference in scoring and 12th in rebounding, with only upperclassmen ahead of him in each category. He also ranked ninth in blocked shots and 15th in field-goal, three-point, and free-throw percentages.

As a team Lycoming compiled a 15-11 record during the 2002-2003 season and qualified for the conference playoffs for the fifth consecutive season.
