STACKHOUSE NAMED FREEDOM CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR MEN’S
HOOPS
WILLIAMSPORT,
PA – Lycoming College junior Matt Stackhouse (Hughesville,
PA; Hughesville) has been named the MAC Freedom Conference
Player of the Week for men’s basketball.
Stackhouse was
a dominant force in the paint, last week, despite a 1-2 record for
the Warriors. The 6’8” center was the leading scorer in all
three games with 24 points versus Elmira, 20 versus King’s, and
27 versus DeSales. He also crashed the boards, recording
double-digit rebounds in all three games. For the week, Stackhouse
averaged 23.7 points, 12.3 rebounds, and four blocked shots per
game. He also shot 62% from the field and 75% from the free-throw
line.
For the season,
Stackhouse is averaging 19.5 points and 10.4 rebounds per game to
lead Lycoming in both categories. He has 12 double-doubles in 17
games to lead the entire conference. This is the second time this
season Stackhouse has been honored as Player of the Week.
As a team, the
Warriors are 10-7 overall and tied for first place in the Freedom
Conference with a mark of 5-1. Their next contest is on Wendesday,
January 29, when they host the University of Scranton. The Royals
are also 5-1 in the conference and 14-3 overall.
