WARRIOR MEN’S BASKETBALL DEFEATS
DIVISION II BLOOMSBURG

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Lycoming College men’s basketball team played host to Division II Bloomsburg University, Tuesday evening. The Warriors used strong defense and their best offensive performance of the young season to dominate the Huskies en route to an 82-62 victory. The win was Lycoming’s first versus Bloomsburg since 1953-54 and their first versus an NCAA Division II scholarship program since 1985. The Warriors are now 3-0 on the season, while the Huskies fall to 2-3.

Lycoming began to take control of the contest late in the first half using a 14-1 run over a four-minute span to build a 14-point lead. Bloomsburg whittled the deficit back to single-digits with a minute to play in the half, but a three-pointer by Jonathan Pribble (So./Woolrich, Pa.; Central Mountain) gave the Warriors a 46-36 lead at the intermission.

The second half was all Lycoming, as the Warriors continued to pound the ball inside at one end of the floor while playing aggressive defense at the other end. Lycoming’s lead swelled to 24 points with 11 minutes to play and the Warriors cruised the rest of the way with all 15 players on the roster seeing action.

Pribble led all scorers with 29 points, including 19 in the first half. He also pulled down six rebounds. Matt Stackhouse (Sr./Hughesville, Pa.; Hughesville) was dominant in the paint scoring 19 points, grabbing a team-high eight rebounds and blocking a pair of shots. L.J. Huggler (Sr./St. Marys, Pa.; St. Marys) chipped in 10 points and six boards. Brad Musser (So./Mifflinburg, Pa.; Mifflinburg) led the squad with eight assists, while adding seven points.

The Huskies were led by Jason Benson (Jr./Pittsburgh, Pa.; Schenley) with 25 points and Ryan Nenstiel (Fr./Nuremburg, Pa.; Weatherly) with 14 points.

Lycoming hits the road for their next contest, traveling to the University of Scranton on Wednesday, December 3, for their first Freedom Conference tilt of the season. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
